Mulberry Visual Literacy.
My first editorial campaign shoot ever. Given a brief to create a S/S campaign for our own chosen, high end fashion brand, along with a physical campaign visual, this was overwhelming, but exciting. I chose the brand Mulberry as I love their authentic British heritage that is shown through their editorial, and I knew I could use the industrial locations around me to create something effective. I made mood boards of previous Mulberry campaigns and different ideas I had. My final concept was to have a well dressed women, smart casual, walking in the 70s, the year of Mulberry's founding, to commemorate 50 years of the brand. I shot this on a rainy day, in order to show the 'typical British spring/summer', and the day of a Mulberry women. I located real streets from the 1970's, that have been preserved, and a rainy day combined with a blue sky, allowed the perfect environment to shoot in. I posed my model next to an old fashioned car, street, net curtains, and store fronts, in order to make it obvious of the time period. This is also great as old styles, and re-editions are becoming popular on the market.
